RESOLUTION NO. 28-87
A RESOLUTION URGING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO FUND
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1987 - 1988 IN THE SAME AMOUNT AS SAID PROGRAM WAS
FUNDED FOR FISCAL YEAR 1986 - 1987.
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program provides many
benefits.to local residents; and
WHEREAS, the United States Congress is considering a substantial
reduction in funding for the Community Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Fayetteville Board of Directors is of the opinion that the
benefits provided by the Community Development Block Grant Program justify
continued funding of said program in an amount equivalent to the
appropriation for Fiscal Year 1986 - 1987.
?OJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIREC1ORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYEITEVILLE, MAMAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors hereby urges the United
States Congress to fund the Community Development Block Grant Program for
Fiscal Year 1987 - 1988 in an amount equivalent to the Fiscal Year 1986-
1987 appropriation for said program.
