A.RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ISSUANCE BY THE ALCOHOLIC
.BEVERAGE CONTROL BOARD OF ANY PERMIT AUTHORIZING
THE SALE BY GROCERY STORES OR QUICK STOP MARKETS
OF BEER OR WINE FOR OFF -PREMISE CONSUMPTION.
WHEREAS, the owners of grocery stores and quick stop markets
in the City of Fayetteville have periodically applied to the Alcoholic
Beverage Control Board for a permit authorizing the sale of beer and
wine for off -premise consumption; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that the sale
of beer and wine by grocery stores and quick stop markets for off -premise
consumption would increase the likelihood that persons under 21 years
of age will be able to obtain and consume alcoholic beverages in the
City of Fayetteville contrary to state law; and -A- :... 4
ENEMAS, the Board of Directors has determined.. that the consumption
of alcoholic beverages by persons under 21 years of age increases
the likelihood of disturbances and motor vehicle accidents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF FAYErrEVILLE, ARS;
Section 1. That the Board of Directors hereby opposes the
issuance of any permit by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board authorizing
the sale by grocery stores and quick stop markets of beer and wine
for off -premise consumption.
