t A RESOLUTION` ENDORSING THE.ODNCEPT OF ESTABLISHING
AN ARKANSAS AIR MUSEUM IN THE. OLD WHITE HANGAR
AT DRAKE FIELD.
WHEREAS, as a part of Arkansas Sesquicentennial 1836-1986 the
Fayetteville Hoard of Directors is considering the establishment of
an Arkansas Air Museum in the Old White Hangar at Drake Field to commem-
orate aviation history in Northwest Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the Old White Hangar at Drake Field is believed to be
the oldest airport structure in Northwest Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, local citizens, representatives of the Arkansas Aviation
Historical Society, and representatives of the University of Arkansas
Museum support the concept of establishing an Arkansas Air Museum
in the Old White Hangar at Drake Field; and
WHEREAS, the museum would operate as a non-profit corporation
with its own Board of Directors and would be regional in scope; and
WHEREAS, several aircraft, historical photographs and documents,
and uniforms have been offered to the museum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 741E HOARD OF DIREOIDRS OF THE
CITY OF FAYFTIEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Board of Directors hereby endorses the concept of estab-
lishing an Arkansas Air Museum in the Old White Hangar at Drake Field
to commemorate the history of aviation in Northwest Arkansas.
