RESOLUTION NO, 24-85
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING HB 706 WHICH WOULD PROHIBIT
CITIES FROM EXTENDING UTILITY SERVICE TO ANNEXED
AREAS ALREADY SERVED BY AN EXISTING UTILITY WITHOUT
THE OJNSENT OF SAID EXISTING UTILITY.
WHEREAS, HB 706 would prohibit cities from extending utility
Service to annexed areas already served by an existing utility without
the consent of said existing utility; and
WHEREAS, such a prohibition would curtail the ability of cities
to provide for orderly growth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILIE, ARKANSAS:
That the Board of Directors hereby strongly opposes HB 706 and
urges the Arkansas General Assembly to defeat said legislation.
