A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CT,FRK
TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S ENGINEERING
CONTRACT WITH McCLELLAND CONSULTING ENGINEERS,
INC., Tb PROVIDE FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION
WITH THE DESIGN OF AN ACCESS ROAD TO THE VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARRANSAS:
That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute an amendment to the City's engineering contract with McClelland
Consulting -Engineers, Inc., to authorize additional services in connection
with the design of an access road to the Veterans Administration Hospital.
A copy of the amendment authorized for execution hereby is attached
hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
- ' to
STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNER AND ENGINEER
The STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT dated July 26,
Fayetteville (Owner) and McClelland Consulting
is amended hereinafter for the purposes of:

1985, between the City of
Engineers, Inc. (Engineer)
1. Increasing the scope of engineering services proposed to
include the study of additional access road routes through
Gregory Park to Sycamore Street and from Building 4 on the
V.A. Hospital Grounds to College Avenue.
2. Increasing the scope of engineering services proposed to
include the design of a 26' wide street 725± feet in length
with curb and gutter, and storm drainage through the V.A.
Hospital grounds to College Avenue. The location of said
street to start Northeast of Building 4 and exit onto College
Avenue at the Northeast corner of the V.A. property.
Specifically, these revisions to the AGREEMENT are to be effected by the
following changes:
Page 1, STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT
Revise paragraph A as outlined in 1 and 2 above.
Page 9, Section 5, Payment to Engineer
Revise the end of paragraph 5.1.1 to read:
$10,325.00".

Delete the last paragraph of page A-1 and replace with the following: "The
planning and study for the College Avenue route will begin upon execution
of this Amendment. The preliminary engineering design services for the
Access Road will begin for the College Avenue route upon approval by the
City of Fayetteville, Veterans Administration Hospital Director,Arkansas
State Highway and Transportation Department and the Owners of Evelyn Hills
Shopping Center. The preliminary design will be completed within 3 weeks
of the route approval.

Except as specifically provided for herein, all other provisions of the
referenced AGREEMENT, dated July 26, 1985, shall remain in full force.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed, or caused to be
executed by their duly authorized officials, this AGREEMENT in duplicate on
the date heretofore stated.

Re: Access Road to V.A. Medical Complex
Dear Mr. Grimes:
Enclosed please find three (3) copies of Amendment No. 1 to our Contract
for the design of the above referenced access road. The amendment is
necessary to cover the increased scope of work requested by the City Board
of Directors to study alternate routes for the Access Road.
The additional scope of work included in this amendment is for the study of
additional access road routes through Gregory Park and for the design of a
725± foot access road through the Northeast portion of the V.A. Hospital
property to College Avenue. The basic fee for engineering services will
increase to a lump sum amount of $10,325.00. This increase in scope and
fee will only cover the study of the additional routes through Gregory
Park, the College Avenue route and the access road design for the College
Avenue route or the access road design for the original predetermined Route
B. Should the College Avenue route not be acceptable to any of the parties
involved, the predetermined Route B not be acceptable to the City and one
of the alternate routes through Gregory Park be selected by the City for
the Access Road; we will require an additional engineering fee for the
design the access road along one of the alternate routes.
