RESOLUTION NO. 25 - 84
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE POLICY OF THE FAYETTEVILLE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGARDING THE USE OF THE NOISE
BARRIER AT DRAKE FIELD.
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville has constructed a
noise barrier at Drake Field; and
WHEREAS, said noise barrier was constructed
persons residing near the Fayetteville Municipal
from high noise levels generated during the late
early morning hours when commercial air carriers
stationary aircraft engine run up testing; and
WHEREAS, the Board of

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the airport manager is hereby directed
to instruct commercial air carriers utilizing Drake Field
that stationary aircraft engine run up testing to be conducted
between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. shall be per-
formed in the noise barrier at Drake Field; provided, this
requirement shall not apply to engine testing which is an
integral part of routine take -offs or landings.
Section 2. That in the event commercial air carriers
do not voluntarily comply with the aforesaid instruction
by the airport manager, the Board of Directors hereby expresses
its intention to adopt an ordinance requiring that stationary
aircraft engine run up testing by commercial air carriers
between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. be conducted
within the noise barrier at Drake Field.
