RESOLUTION N0. 110-84
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
TASK ORDER NO. 3 AMENDING. THE CITY'S ENGINEERING AGREEMENT WITH
CH2M HILL SOUTHEAST, INC., DATED JULY 20, 1983 TO PROVIDE FOR
A PILOT PLANT STUDY OF PROPOSED WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVE-
MENTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYEiTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute Task Order No. 3 amending the City's engineering agreement
with CH2M Hill Southeast, Inc., dated July 20, 1983, to provide for
a pilot plant study in connection with the City's proposed Wastewater
Treatment Plant improvements. A copy of the task order authorized
for execution hereby is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made
a part hereof.

TASK ORDER NUMBER 3
PILOT PLANT SERVICES
Task Order Number 3 amends the basic agreement executed
between CH2M HILL SOUTHEAST, INC. (Engineer), and the CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS (Owner), on the 20th day of July,
1983.
ARTICLE 1
In response to a requirement of EPA and the ADPC&E, a pilot
plant study will be performed to assess the operational
characteristics of the A/O process for Fayetteville. The
results of this study will be used to support permitting
efforts as well as to modify the design basis, if required.
The study will be designed to begin operation in the winter
of 1985 continuing through the warm months of early summer.
More specifically the schedule of milestones to be reached
from the date of project authorization is as follows:

schedule assumes no unusual delays in accepting the
Plan.
The Engineer will be assisted by McClelland Consulting
Engineers and Air Products. Additionally, a nationally
recognized expert in biological treatment will be retained
to provide an independent overview report directly to the
Owner.
The size of the pilot plant will be dictated by the
availability of equipment and the rigorous schedule imposed
on the study. The anticipated flow rate is 1 to 2 gpm of
waste flow.
ARTICLE 2
As consideration for providing the services enumerated in
Article 1 above, the Owner shall pay the Engineer an amount
not to exceed $400,000. Payment shall be made on the basis
of payroll cost plus 125% of payroll cost plus direct

project expenses. The Work Plan will provide a more defini-
tive estimate of cost.
ARTICLE 3
Payment to the Engineer for services provided
in Article 1 is due to be made within 30 days
billing.
