A RESOLUTION AJJTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S ENGINEERING CONTRACT
DATED JUNE 21, 1983 WITH McCLELLAND,,CONSULTING ENGINEERS,
INC. FOR FAA PROJECT NO. 3-05-0020-04;TO PROVIDE FOR A
CONCRETE PAVEPENT-,ALTERNATIVE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the amendment to agreement for engineering
services attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part
hereof. Wit

AMENDMENT NO.
TO
AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
The AGREEMENT, made the 21st day of June, 1983, by and
between the CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS and McCLELLAND
CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., Fayetteville, Arkansas, is amended as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville desires that the scope of
services be increased to incorporate design, construction
observation services, and materials testing, for a "concrete
pavement alternative", and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the
primary funding source for referenced Project No. 3-05-0020-;04',
and requires that a formal contract amendment be executed if said
additional services are to be considered as eligible for FAA
funding,
WITNESSETH that the additional stipulations are hereby agreed:
In accordance with Section C, of the original contract, the
Owner directs the Engineer to revise the Plans and Specifications
to reflect a bid alternative for constructing concrete pavement,
in lieu of asphalt.
In accordance with the provisions of the Basic Agreement,
the Engineer agrees to provide related additional engineering
design services for this "concrete pavement alternative" for
one -thousand, six -hundred, twenty-five dollars ($1,625).
Furthermore, if (and only if) the "concrete pavement
alternative" is the one selected for actual construction, the
OWNER agrees to pay approximately one -thousand,
seventy-five dollars ($1,075) in additional materials testing fee
(bringing the total fee "estimate" for materials testing to
$4,375), and four -thousand, eighty dollars ($4,080) in additional
construction observation fee.
This Amendment increases the Design and Construction
Observation fee to forty-two thousand, seven -hundred,
seventy-five ($42,775) and, if the concrete alternative is
selected for construction, increases the Preliminary and Detailed
Planning, Design, and Construction Observation fee to forty-six
thousand, eight -hundred, fifty-five dollars ($46,855).

The time of performance by the Engineer will not delay the
overall completion of the design,phase of the project.
