RESOLUTION NO. 141-82
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE POSITION OF THE
FAYETTEVILLE BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGARDING
THE CONSTRUCTION AND VACATION OF STREETS
NEAR THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COURTHOUSE IF
THE WASHINGTON COUNTY QUORUM COURT DECIDES
TO LOCATE A NEW JAIL FACILITY IN SAID AREA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF FAYEITEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the position of the Fayetteville Board of Directors
regarding the construction and vacation of streets near the
Washington County Courthouse if the Washington County Quorum Court
decides to locate a new jail facility in said area is:
(1) That the City will proceed with construction of
Meadow Street and Washington Avenue, as soon as weather permits, to
meet a completion date requested by the Washington County Quorums Court,
and
(2) That the City will close Center Street, subject to
the approval of Washington County and the abutting property owner to
the north, and
(3) That the City will examine right-of-way acquisition
costs for an extension of Meadow Street to determine as soon as
possible whether the City will bear all of said costs.
