A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMEND-
MENT TO THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY
AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT DATED OCTOBER 29, 1980, FOR
FHWA BICYCLE GRANT FUNDS AND:: T.O7PROVIDE_THAT NO EMPLOYEE,
OFFICER, OR AGENT OF THE CITY SHALL HAVE A REAL OR APPARENT
CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute an amendment to the City's contract dated October
29, 1980, with the Highway Transportation Department for
FHWA Bicycle Grant Funds ,and to provide that -no employee,
officer, or agent of the City shall have a real or apparent
conflict of interest.• A copy of the amendment authorized
for execution hereby is attached hereto marked "Exhibit A"
and made a part hereof.

A Letter of Agreement
Between
The City of Fayetteville
and
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department
It is mutually agreed that Section 21 of the contract entered into for
FHWA Bicycle Grant funds by the above parties on October 29, 1980, be amended
.t.'1.41,"1 - as follows(
Section 21: Prohibited Interest. No employee, officer or agent of the
City shall participate in the selection, award, or administration of a subcon-
tract supported by this Contract, if a conflict of interest, real or apparent,
would arise when:
(1) the employee, officer or agent;
(2) any member of his/her immediate family;
(3) his/her partner, or
(4) an organization which employs, or is about to employ any of
the above,.
has a financial or other interest in the firm selected for award.
