A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY RESOURCES GROUP, INC.
TO PROVIDE A PUBLIC TRANSIT'SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE.
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville ±s'authorized to provide
residents of the City a public transit system; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that Community
Resource Group, Inc. has the necessary vehicles and personnel; and.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that the City
can best provide a public transit system by contracting with
Community Resource Group, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
O)- THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor and
City Clerk to execute a contract with Community Resource Group,
Inc. to provide a public transit system. A copy of the contract
authorized for execution hereby is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A"
and made a part hereof.

CONTRACT
This Contract executed thisa1,t, day of 7y7 cLJ
1981, by and between the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
hereinafter called the "City" and Community Resource Group,
Inc., a non-profit corporation, hereinafter called "Ozark
Transit".
WHEREAS, the Fayetteville Board of Directors has determined
that the City is in need of a public transportation system;
and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized to operate a public
transportation system but has determined that a public
transportation system could be better operated at this time
by Ozark Transit; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Contract is to set forth
the terms and conditions under which Ozark Transit will
operate a public transportation system for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants
contained herein, the City and Ozark Transit agree as follows:
1. Ozark Transit shall operate a public transportation
system in the City in accordance with the hours, routes, and
schedules reflected on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made
a part hereof. Ozark Transit shall have the authority to
modify the schedule upon written approval of the City.
2. In consideration for providing public transportation
services in accordance with the terms of this Contract, the
City agrees to pay Ozark Transit the sum of Eleven Thousand
One Hundred Seventy Two and 00/100 DOLLARS ($11,172.00) in
six equal monthly installments with the first installment
payable March 1, 1981 and each succeeding installment payable
on the first day of each month thereafter.
3. Ozark Transit shall provide the necessary additional
funds to meet the local share requirement under Sec. 18 of
the Urban Mass Transit Act.

4. At the end of each month during the term of this
contract, Ozark Transit shall provide the City Board of
Directors a report summarizing expenditures, revenues, and
service statistics, including ridership volume.
5. Ozark Transit shall cooperate with the -City to
develop the following:
(a) A service plan to coordinate Ozark Transit's
services with other transportation services operating
in the City; and
(b) A financing plan to develop sources of local
matching funds under Sec. 18 of the Urban,Mass Transit
Act from private contributions, eligible income sources,
fares and funds generated from incidental sources by
Ozark Transit.
6. Ozark Transit shall, with assistance from the
Transit Advisory Committee, develop a plan for achieving
costs savings in the operation of the transit service.
7. At all times during the term of this Contract Ozark
Transit shall maintain motor vehicle liability insurance
with minimum coverage of $500,000 for personal injury•.or
death or for property damage. The City shall be .provided a
certificate of insurance and be designated as certificate holder.
8. Ozark Transit agrees to hold the City harmless from
any claim, demands, or judgments against th City arising
from Ozark Transit providing public transportation service
under the terms of this Contract.
9. The term of this Contract shall commence February 11,
1981 and shall terminate August 11, 1981.
10. This Contract may be terminated by either party by
giving written notice to the other party at least 10 days
prior to the termination date.
11. This Contract may be modified or amended by
written agreement of the parties.

HOW TO USE OZARK TRANSIT
You can catch the bus at any street
corner or bus stop along the route
by flagging the driver. Be sure to pick
a safe place to catch the bus, where
you are visible to traffic from both
directions.

MOUNTAIN
Ozark Transit routes use one stop
on the Fayetteville square, located
next to the old Woolworth building on
Block Street. This stop has been des-
ignated for our passenger's safety
and to reduce traffic hazards on the
square. Please use this location for
getting on and off the bus.
FARE INFORMATION
Base fare: $.50. Transfers between
routes are free. DISCOUNT TICKET
BOOK -$4.50 good for 10 base fare
trips. On sale at Mcllroy and First
National Bank branches, and. First
Federal Savings at the Mall.
PARK & RIDE
Park and Ride spaces are available
at the Northwest Arkansas Mall and
the Westgate Shopping Center, cour-
tesy of the Mall and Consumer's IGA
Thriftway.
Persons who wish to take the
bus to work or business in town from
those locations may park on the front
parking lot at the Mall, and in the
signed spaces at the Southwest
corner of the Westgate parking lot.
HANDICAPPED ACCESS
Ozark Transit vehicles on city
routes are not lift -equipped at this
time. If you have special transporta-
tion needs, please call us for assis-
tance, and we will try to make ar-
rangements to accommodate you.

each route, such as 1A Evelyn Hills,
on the Mall route. The schedule lists
departure times from those points.
If you wish to board or leave the bus
between Time Points, you can expect
the bus to arrive or leave a few
minutes between the schedule times
shown.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Ozark Transit operates Monday
through Friday, 6:50 AM to 6:20 PM.
In observance of legal holidays,
buses will not run New Year's Day,.
Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The #1 Mall Route pulls off College Avenue to stop at
Evelyn Hills by the Sterling Store, K -Mart (North end of
building), Consumer's Grocery (North store entrance),
and Arkansas Social Services.
The Mall bus stop is located on the sidewalk just
South of the Bowen's entrance. Connections to Spring-
dale are available at this point
HOW TO USE THE NORTH COLLEGE STOPS
For your safety, and to prevent traffic hazards, buses
will not stop on North College Avenue between Lafayette
and Evelyn Hills except at North Avenue and Trenton
Street-
