A RESOLUTION OPPOSING APPROVAL BY THE UNITED STATES
ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS OF A PROPOSED OUTFALL LINE
FOR SECONDARY TREATED SEWAGE FROM THE KNOLLS ON_THE
PRAIRIE CREEK ARM OF BEAVER RESERVOIR.
WHEREAS, the United States Army Corp of Engineers
has given public notice of an application by Beaver Limited
Partnership No. 1 for an outfall line for secondary treated
sewage from the knolls"on the;Prairie Creek Arm of Beaver
Reservoir; and

WHEREAS, Beaver Reservoir is the sole source of drinking
water for all major cities in Northwest Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the water quality of said reservoir must be
protected to safeguard the health and welfare of Northwest
Arkansas residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors hereby opposes
the application by Beaver Limited Partnership No. 1 for an
outfall line for secondary treated sewage from the knolls"'on
the Prairie Creek arm of Beaver Reservoir.
Section 2. That the Board of Directors hereby requests
the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to require tertiary sewage
treatment as a condition for approval of the aforesaid outfall
line.
