WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and
Ecology has been designated to prepare the Section 208 Arkansas
Water Quality Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the planning area includes all counties in Arkansas;
and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations
published pursuant to Section 208 of the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act Amendments of 1972 require an annual plan update and the
designation of a management agency with the responsibilities thereto;
and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and
Ecology is the Designated Management Agency to accomplish the con-
tinuing planning effort; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and
Ecology will continue to coordinate the continuing planning efforts;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that the City will:
1. Accept the designation as the Designated Management Agency
for publicly owned wastewater treatment facilities for
the Fayetteville, Arkansas, service area as indicated on
the plat attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a
part hereof, and assume the duties and responsibilities
of that agency as outlined in the Arkansas Water Quality
Management Plan;
2. Participate in and support the continuing Arkansas Water
Quality Management Planning Process for publicly owned
wastewater treatment facilities as outlined in the Plan; and
3. Accept the duties and responsibilities for publicly owned
wastewater treatment facilities as outlined in the Plan.
