RESOLUTION NO. 2'f-79
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PROPOSAL OF THE ARKANSAS
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO IMPROVE U.S. HIGHWAY 62 FROM FARMINGTON,
ARKANSAS TO U.S. HIGHWAY 71B IN FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway Department has prepared
preliminary plans to improve the location and design of U.S.
Highway 62 from Farmington, Arkansas to U.S. Highway 71B in
Fayetteville, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements generally consist of
widening the roadway to 5 lanes along the existing alignment
a distance of 4.5 miles; and
WHEREAS, said portion of said Highway is badly in need of
the proposed improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Board of Directors hereby strongly supports the
proposal of the Arkansas Highway Department to improve U.S.
Highway 62 from Farmington, Arkansas to U.S. Highway 71B in
Fayetteville in accordance with preliminary plans prepared by
said Arkansas Highway Department on file with the Department's
district engineer in Fort Smith and resident engineer in
Springdale; including sidewalks.
