A RESOLUTION URGING THE ARKANSAS CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION
TO SUPPORT LEGISLATION TO REPEAL THE DAVIS-BACON ACT.
WHEREAS, the Davis -Bacon Act was enacted during the
depression era; and
WHEREAS, the Comptroller General of the General Accounting
Office has released a draft report calling for repeal of
Davis -Bacon as an archaic inflationary threat and an unneeded law
that provides no construction benefits; and
WHEREAS, as the Davis -Bacon Act is presently administered
many of the prevailing wage rate determinations issued by
the Department of Labor are not realistic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the Board of Directors hereby urges the Arkansas
Congressional Delegation to strongly support legislation to
repeal the Davis -Bacon Act. �_ ^
