RESOLUTION NO. //6-
A RESOLUTION ASSURING THE HERITAGE CONSERVATION AND
RECREATION SERVICE THAT CERTAIN CITY -OWNED PROPERTY WILL
BE RESTRICTED IN USE TO PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas seeks to improve
the recreation facilities in Walker Park and desires to have federal
assistance where possible; and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain the funds necessary to develop and/or
improve Walker Park for such recreation uses, it is necessary to obtain
a grant from the appropriate agency of the United States Government;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the City intends to acquire, utilizing procedures that comply
with the Uniform Relocation and Real Property Acquisition Act, a seven -
acre parcel located between Walker Park and an eight -acre city -owned parcel,
as indicated on the attached map, and
That the City warrants, covenants, and assures the Heritage
Conservation and Recreation Service that these two parcels will be held
for public park purposes, for a period of not less than twenty-five years
from November 20, 1979.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 20th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1979.
