HomeMy WebLinkAbout24-78 RESOLUTIONJ RESOLUTION NO. a4C_7f WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of various city employees and members of the Board of Directors that the Frisco warning lights at several street intersections in the City of Fayetteville have been operating when no trains are either present or approaching; and 4 WHEREAS, the operation of these signals when no trains are present, in addition to being a nuisance and an aggravation to those who live and work nearby and are subjected to hours of clanging bells, also has a tendency to cause drivers to ignore the warning when trains are approaching, thus endangering residents of the community; and WHEREAS, repeated telephone calls and letters to Frisco from the city have not caused the problem to be solved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE: That the St. Louis & San Francisco Railroad is hereby put on notice that it is the intent of the City Board that this dangerous condition be remedied immediately and permanently, and, to accomplish this, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to take any prudent action necessary. 1-1 Passed and approved this 47 day of April, 1978. ei .�!
