WHEREAS, the Fayetteville City Board of Directors recognizes
that critical shortages of energy are creating severe hardships in the
United States; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is deeply concerned about the
energy shortage and the resulting hardship; and
WHEREAS, the City Board desires to contribute to the solution of
these problems by reducing the amount of energy used in Fayetteville,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE:
That the City Manager be directed to develop and implement all
feasible conservation measures, including the lowering of temperatures
in city buildings, during the current natural gas shortage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager direct city
department heads to develop recommendations on energy conservation
legislation for the City of Fayetteville and its citizens
