A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY TO HUD FOR URGENT
NEEDS FUNDS TO COMPLETE AN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT (ARK -R-105) IN THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE.
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a municipal corporation, has
heretofor applied for and received a grant from the Department of Housing and
Urban Development for an Urban Renewal Project under Project No. ARK -R-105; and,
WHEREAS, due to circumstances beyond the City's control, the completion
of said Urban Renewal Project has inadequate funds remaining to fully complete
the work; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to replace existing sewer and water lines in order
to provide adequate sanitation, health and firefighting as a support to the
project site, and,
WHEREAS, under P.L. 93-383, and the Rules and Regulations promulgated there-
under, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is empowered to make
Community Development Block Grant Funds available to provide for the completion
of Urban Renewal projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section I: That Donald L. Grimes, City Manager of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, be and hereby is authorized to execute and file an
application on behalf of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, for a grant
under Title I of said P,L. 93-383, as stipulated in 24 CFR
Part 570, Chapter V, Urgent Needs Fund, to provide funds for
the additional cost of completing Urban Renewal Project No.
ARK -R-105.
Section II: That the said City Manager be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to provide the certifications required by Part 570.401(c),
and such other information as the Department of Housing and Urban
Development may reasonably request in connection with the applica-
tion which is hereby authorized to be filed.
