Home My WebLink About69-75 RESOLUTION• RESOLUTION NO. 69--%r A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER IN THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH TRI -CITY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO AUTHORIZE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF FARMINGTON, ARKANSAS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed to execute a change order in the City's contract with Tri -City Construction Company to authorize the construction of a sewerage system in the City of Farmington, Arkansas. A copy of said change order, marked Exhibit "A", is attached hereto and made a part hereof. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS AT -44 DAY OF ( � , 1975. yrs ATTEST• CITY CLERK 4'. i . .� APPROVED: ()2a.:.n„lY (32-1Sc7 MAYOR RESOLUTION ND. 7,5-- • 5= • A Joint Resolution of the City of Farmington, Arkansas and • Sewer Improvement District No. 2 of Farmington, Arkansas WHEREAS, the city officials of the City of Farmington, Arkansas have been working since 1966 toward the construction of a sanitary sewer system to serve the residents of the city, and WHEREAS, at the request of the City of Farmington, the City of Fayette- ville, Arkansas filed joint applications to the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and to the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for grant assistance to aid in the construction of the sewer system in the Farmington area as well as work within the City of Fayetteville, and WHEREAS, these grant requests have been approved, and WHEREAS, on February 27, 1975, the City of Fayetteville did, at the request of the City of Farmington, receive construction bids for a complete sewerage system for the City of Farmington, and WHEREAS,, the lowest and best bidder for this work was Tri -City Construction Company, with a bid in the amount of $512,908.40, and WHEREAS, Sewer Improvement District No. 2 of Farmington, Arkansas, has been formed and has made provision for the issuance of Sewer Improvement Dis- trict bonds to defray the local portion of the cost, and WHEREAS, the City of Farmington has applied for and received a grant from the Arkansas Department of rcral Services for a grant to assist in the con- struction of the sewerage facilities, NOW ARE, the City of Farmington, Arkansas, acting through its duly elected City Council, and Sewer Improvement District No. 2, acting through its Commissioners, do hereby resolve: 1. That the City of Fayetteville is hereby requested to award the con- tract to the lowest and best bidder, Tri -City Construction Company, in the amount of $512,908.40, and 2. That the City of Farrington and Sewer Inprovenent District No. 2 • hereby agree to provide the local funds (that part not furnished by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Housing and Urban Development) required for the construction of the project, and 3.. The proposed Change Order NO. 1 to the contract is hereby approved, and the Mayor. and City Recorder are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Change Order, and Sewer Improvement District No. 2 hereby accepts said Change Order Passed and approved this /2- day of August, 1975. It is understood that the City of Fayetteville will act as administrator under the contract.
