HomeMy WebLinkAbout45-75 RESOLUTION4.• RESOLUTION NO. 445:-/ir A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE CENTER SQUARE URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, ARK R-105. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the Urban Renewal Plan for the Center Square Urban Renewal Project, Ark R-105, is hereby amended as indicated on the plat, marked Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof. Section 2. That all resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS pitA DAY OF 1975. BLOCK,. / - r \e• N ‘. 3 \ EAST - r\ • 7. 02 • FAYETTEVILLE CENTER SQUARE NWArkansas Architects' Council Proposal This proposal indicates: A CENTER MALL * A continuous north -south mall established by planting a row of trees on either side of the Old Post Office Building, 4 * A "quiet" court on the north between the banks and the Old Post Office, usable for a variety of civic and cultural events, and * An "active" or sales promotion court between the Old Post Office and the stores on the south (Penney's, Davidson's, etc.) with vehicular access for auto and boat shows, farmer's market, etc. ACCESS and TRAFFIC * Block and East remaining one-way as existing, Mountain the lost and Center returning to two-way traffic to restore much of access to the Square, 4$ Establishing pedestrian right-of-way, and * With right turns only on and off the Square thus developed, ELIMINATING ALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS PARKING * A loss of some 32 parking spaces on the Square proper: existing spaces 106 spaces shown 74 spaces lost 32 (Note: The proposal to close only Center Street to traffic appears to lose some 30 parking spaces.) * Recovering this deficit by changing Block and East from parallel to 450 parking within one block of the Square • • •
