RESOLUTION NO
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has received certain
recommendations from the Water and Sewer Committee with
regard to rural water service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS:
Section 1. It is the policy of the Board of Directors:
a. That the area shown on the map attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, be and the same
hereby is adopted and approved as the City of Fayetteville
growth area for the purpose of negotiating an agreement
or agreements to supply water service outside the corporate
limits of the City of Fayetteville.
b, That the City Manager in conjunction with the City
Attorney, City Controller, City Engineer, and the City Water
and Sewer. Committee be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to begin immediately the preparation of plans and
specifications for water lines within said growth area,
c. That the City Manager in conjunction with the City
Attorney, City Controller, City Engineer and City Water
and Sewer Committee be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to prepare a recommendation to the Board of.Directors
for financing the-cost.of said water improvements in said
growth area.
d. That the City Manager in conjunction with the City
Attorney, City Controller, City Engineer, City Water and
Sewer Committee, and.the firm of Black and Veech, Consulting
Engineers, be and he hereby_ is authorized and directed to
determine a rate for sale of water within said growth area
based upon cost ,of .service principles for recommendation to
the Board of, Dir-ectors . - --
e. That.the City Water; and Sewer Committee be and it
hereby is authorized and -directed to complete negotiations
with Rural Water District -or Districts for the purpose of
recommending an agreement or agreements for water service
outside said growth area.
Section 2. jt appearing that numerous citizens located
both inside and outside said growth area are in urgent need of
water, an emergency'is hereby declared"to exist and this
resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.
