WHEREAS, the Board of Dira-ctors of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, deems it desirable to enter into a street improvement
program on Stone Street from Eastern Avenue to Sang Avenue;
Lewis Street from U.S. Highway 62 to Maine;TStreet; and Mitchell
Street from Lewis Avenue to a'point 800 feet west of Lewis
Avenue as a part of the city's street maintenance and reconstruction
program
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to cause studies to be made of the need for street improvements;
including grading, paving, curbing, guttering, drainage and storm
sewers, on Stone Street from Eastern Avenue to Sang Avenue; Lewis
Street from U.S. Highway No. 62 to Maine Street; and Mitchell
Street from Lewis Avenue to a point 800 west of Lewis Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he hereby
is authorized to cause studies to be made of the approximate cost
of such improvements, the means available for financing the same,
the portion thereof which the municipality is willing and able
to pay, taking into account any funds available to the city for
street improvements, and the approximate assessments which would
be made against each lot or parcel of property in the defined
area to reimburse the city for the cost of the improvements to be
borne by the property owners in the area.
