HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-71 RESOLUTIONWHEREAS, Fayetteville, studies to be Center Street RESOLUTION NO. 75-7/ the Board of Directors of the City of Arkansas, a municipal corporation, did cause made of the needs for street improvement to from Razorback Road to Garvin Drv.e, and; WHEREAS, pursuant to the above-described studies the- Board heBoard of Directors of the City of -Fayetteville, Arkansas, has received from the City: Manager: certain findings and determinations, whichfindings and determinations are as follows, to --wit:. REPORT ON IMPROVEMENT OF CENTER STREET FROM PALMER AVENUE TO GARVIN DRIVE 1. In accordance with a resolution passed and approved by the Board of Directors,on November 1, 1971, the City Manager was authorized to perform studies for the improve- ment mprovement of Center Street from Palmer Avenue to Garvin Drive. These instructions required a report to be made to. the Board of Directors containing the following listed data: A. Determination of necessary improvements: B . Determination of the 'approximate cost of said improve- ments. C. The means available for financing same. D . The portion thereo. which the municipality is willing and able to pay. E . The approximate assessment which Would be made against each lot or parcel of property. 2. The proposed street improvement project should include 'complete street r+aconstruction on Center Street from Palmer Avenue to Garvin Drive. Necessary improvements include reshaping and construction of base to meet current city standards; construc- tion of street surface of concrete materials, 28 feet in width and installation of concrete curbs. • - 2 3. The total estimated project cost for street construction of Center Street from Palmer Avenue to Garvin Drive is $14,673:75. 4. Itis proposed that the City would pay $0.00 of the project cost with an assessment of $14,673.75 being levied against the real property benefited by the proposed improvement to reimburse the City for the cost of the im- provements.. 5. It is proposed that the property owner(s) be given a choice of paying the assessment levied in a lump sum payable within thirty (30) days after the completion of the proposed improvements, or in ten (10) equal annual install- ments bearing interest at the' 'rate of ten per cent per annum If the property owners) chooses) the instament method of payment, the first installment shall be collected on or before October 1, 1972.. Second and subsequent installments shall be paid at the time provided by law for paying the first install- ment of general taxes on the property. 6. The approximate assessments which would be made against each lot or parcel of property are as follows: TRACT Lot 5 of Block 1 in Ace's Acres sub -division, City of Fayetteville, Arkansas Lot 48 in Extension of #1 of Hotz' Sub -division, City of Fayetteville,' Arkansas Lot 47 in Extension of #1 of Hotz Sub -division, City of Fayetteville, Arkansas Lot 46 in Extension of #1 of Hotz Sub -division, City of Fayetteville, Arkansas Five acres, more or less, lying at the East end of the 20 -acre tract described as the North half (141 1/2) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4), Section 17, Township 16 North, Range APPROXIMATE ASSESSMENT $ 1,867.11 1,867.11 1,834.22 1,834.22. 30 West,of the Fifth Principal Meridian, said five acres being more particularly described as beginning at the fence corner which locates; the Northeast corner of the above described 20 acres, thence .running 44 yards West along the North line thereof, thence running 55 yards in a South. -Southwesterly direction along a row :of ash trees to the last tree" in said row, thence 36 yards in a Southwesterly direction to a large elm tree, thence 77 yards in a West and Southwesterly direction to a large cornerstone implanted in the ground, thence due South for 114 yards, more or less, to the South line Of the above described 20. acres; thence East along the South line of the said 20 acres to the Southeast corner thereof, thence North along the old fence, which is the East line of the said 20 .acres, to the point of beginning.
