A RESOLUTION DECLARING MARCH 20, 1971 AS SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY and to officially
recognize March 20, 1971 as National Kick -Off Day of the Boy Scouts of America
1971 Project to Clean -Up and Conserve Our Environment.
WHEREAS, March 20, 1971 has been selected by the Boy Scouts of America as
Kick -Off Day for their 1971 Conservation Project, and
WHEREAS, the Local Chapter of Boy Scouts of America wish to observe March 20,
1971 by picking up trash along public rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the Community Appearance Committee recommends that the Board of
Directors declare March 20, 1971 as Spring Clean -Up Day for 1971 in conjunc-
tion with the clean-up efforts of the local Boy Scouts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: ,,
SECTION 1. That March 20, 1971 is hereby declared to be Spring Clean -
Up Day as recommended by the Community Appearance Committee; and
SECTION 2. That the Board of Directors officially recognize and sanction
the efforts of the Local Troops of the Boy Scouts of America, including Cub
Scouts and Explorer Scouts, to clean up and conserve our environment and
encourages all citizens of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas to bundle and
place trash near the street curb for pick up by City Sanitation Crews on
Saturday, March 20, 1971.
