WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville is presently participating in the
development of the Northwestern Arkansas Regional Transportation Study; and
WHEREAS,
program and a
WHEREAS,
the Study includes the development of a long-range improvement
traffic operations study; and
the Study will provide data which should qualify as support
information in the development of a "Traffic Operations Program to Increase
Capacity and Safety" for the Fayetteville major street system; and
WHEREAS, a TOPICS study will expedite the accomplishment of a short-
range program to increase traffic flow and safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an
Agreement with the Arkansas Highway Department pertaining
to the conduct of a TOPICS study for the City of Fayetteville.
Section 2. That the City of Fayetteville pledges its full support and
cooperation to the Arkansas Highway Department and to all
other agencies involved in the project.
Section 3. That the City of Fayetteville will participate, in accordance
with its designated responsibility, in the implementation of
the recommendations provided in the approved report.
Passed and adopted this 16th day of February , 1971.
