A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES
AND TRUCKS AT STATE CONTRACT PRICES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Act 8 of the 68th Session of the Arkansas General Assembly
authorizes the State Purchasing Director, in the Awarding of Contracts for
the Purchase of Passenger Motor Vehicles and Trucks for State Agencies, to
include authorization whereby municipalities, counties and school districts
in the State may, at their option, purchase such motor vehicles at the con-
tract price established for State agencies, and;
WHEREAS, the provisions of Act 8 of the 68th Session of the Arkansas
General Assembly are intended to provide municipalities, counties, and school
districts in the State of Arkansas the option of purchasing passenger motor
vehicles and trucks at State contract prices whenever, in the opinion -of the
authorized purchasing official of the municipality, county, or school dis-
trict, that such option to purchase at State contract prices, if exercised,
will be in the best interest of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That whenever it is determined that the City may be able
to purchase passenger motor vehicles or trucks at Stateof Arkansas contract
prices and that such State prices are less than any other quotation prices
obtained for the same equipment, the City Manager of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, be and he is hereby authorized to act on behalf of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas and make the purchase of the necessary motor vehicles
pursuant to the provisions of Act 8 of the 68th Session of the Arkansas Gen-
eral Assembly; and
SECTION 2. That such purchases shall

file certified copies of this resolution with the State Purchasing Division

Arkansas General Assembly.
