HomeMy WebLinkAbout25-70 RESOLUTION1 RESOLUTION NO. a5 — %D WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a municipal corporation, did cause studies to be made of the needs for street improvement to Dunn Avenue from llth Street to 15th Street, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the above-described studies the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has received from the City Manager certain findings and determinations, which findings and determinations are as follows, to -wit: REPORT ON IMPROVEMENT OF DUNN AVENUE FROM 11TH STREET T.0 15TH STREET 1. In accordance with Resolution No. 11-70 passed and approved by the Board of Directors on May 4, 1970, the City Manager was authorized to perform studies for the improvement of Dunn Avenue from llth Street to 15th Street. These instructions required a report to be made to the Board of Directors containing the following listed data: A. Determination of necessary improvements. B . Determination of the approximate cost of said improvements. C. The means available for financing same. D . The portion thereof which the municipality is willing and able to to pay. E . The approximate assessment which would be made against each lot or parcel of property. 2. The proposed street improvement project should include complete street reconstruction on Dunn Avenue from llth Street to 15th Street. Necessary improvements include excavation of the existing pavement; construction of base to meet current City standards; repaving with two (2) inches of hot mix asphaltic materials, twenty- six (26) feet wide; installation of concrete curbs and gutters on the East side of said street; and installation of a four (4) foot concrete sidewalk on the West side of said street in lieu of curbs and gutters. 3. The total estimated project cost for street reconstruction on Dunn Avenue from llth Street to 15th Street is $13',32;2'.76'. a 4. It is proposed that the City would pay $0.00 of the project cost with an assessment of $13,322776 being levied against the real property .benefited .by•the proposed improvements. to reimburse the City for a portion of the cost of the improvements. 5. It is proposed that the property owner(s) be given a choice of paying the assessments levied in a lump sum payable within thirty (30). days after the completion of the proposed improvements, or in ten (10) equal annual installments bearing interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum. If the property owner(s) choose(s) the installment method of payment, the first installment shall be collected on or before October 1, 1970. Second and subsequent installments shall be paid at the time provided by law for paying the final installment of general taxes on the property. 6.
