WHEREAS, the. University of Arkansas Razorbacks football team, unbeaten
during the current season and ranked number two among college football teams_
in the nation, meet the University. of Texas Longhorns this Saturday, December
6 in Fayetteville, -.and
WHEREAS, Governor Winthrop Rockefeller has invited -President Richard M.
Nixon to witness this, the game of the. year.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE-
1. Commends and congratulates the Arkansas Razorbacks football team,
coaching staff,.and-the University of Arkansas for their success,,and
2. Supports the Razorbacks and declares the community's confidence
that they can and will beat the Texas Longhorns and thus become the undis-
puted number one college footballteam in the nation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE seconds Governor.
