WHEREAS, the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport Authority, after three
years of study and deliberation, has proposed to construct an "all-weather"
airport capable of handling jet aircraft and employing an instrument land-
ing system, and
WHEREAS, such an airport is vital to the continuing growth, prosperity,
and well being of the City of Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, a referendum has been called for September 23, 1969 to auth-
orize the Airport Authority to levy two mills tax on each dollar of assessed
property value in Washington and Benton Counties for the purpose of financ-
ing the construction of the airport,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the City of
Fayetteville that the Board urges all voters of Fayetteville to vote on
September 23, 1969 in favor of the proposition to finance the proposed
regional airport.
