RESOLUTION NO. 5 - 67
A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WASTE WATER TREAT—
WENT PLANT AND 36" OUTFALL SEWER AND PLANT WATER LINE.
WHEREAS, Johnny James of Springdale, Arkansas, has submitted the
low bid for construction of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, in the sum
of $1,850,848,69, and
WHEREAS, Southard Engineering Company of Springfield, Missouri,
has submitted the low bid for construction of the 36« Outfall Sewer and
Plant Water Line, in the sum of $1,005,000.00, and
WHEREAS, both of said bidders appear to be responsible, well
qualified and capable of constructing the facilities planned, and it
is in the best interest of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to accept
said bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That subject to the approval of the Federal Water
Pollution Control Administration, the contract for construction of the
Waste Water Treatment Plant is hereby awarded to the lowest responsible
bidder, Johnny James of Springdale, Arkansas, in the sum of $1,850.848.69.
SECTION 2, That subject to the approval of the Federal Water
Pollution Control Administration, the contract for construction of the
36" Outfall Sewer and Plant Water Line is hereby awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder, Southard Engineering Company of Springfield,
Missouri, in the sum of $1,005,000.00.
SECTION 3, It is expressly made a condition of,the award of
said contracts that they be approved by the Federal!Water Pollution
Control Administration, otherwise they shall have no binding or legal
effect whatsoever.
SECTION 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the two contracts hereinabove stated
upon and after the approval of the contract awards by the Federal Water
Pollution Control Administration.
