HomeMy WebLinkAbout1A-66 RESOLUTION• .i 9 • 7 RESOLUTION NO. 1 - 66 A A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AUTHORITY TO SIGN CHECKS ISSUED BY THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, UNTIL A MANAGER IS EMPLOYED, OR UNTIL. SOONER TERMINATED BY RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WHEREAS; various ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, require the signature of two persons on City checks, the City Treasurer or Controller and usually the Mayor, or in some instances the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Departments or some other person designated by the City, and WHEREAS, checks for the Firements Relief and Pension Fund are signed by the Mayor and City Treasurer, .and • WHEREAS, checks for the Policements Pension and Relief Fund are signed by the City Treasurer, the Chairman and Secretary of the Policements Pension and Relief Fund Board of Trustees, and the Chairmanship of that Board has been vacated by reason of the fact that the Chairman was the Chair- man of the Police Committee of the City Council, and WHEREAS, in order to provide for the continued operation of the City of Fayetteville pending employment of a City Manager, it is necessary to designate persons to sign checks issued by the City and said Funds, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That all checks issued by the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, shall be signed by the City Treasurer or Controller and the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Departments. SECTION 2. That all checks issued from the Firemen`s Pension and Relief Fund shall be signed by the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Departments and the City Treasurer. SECTION 3. That all checks issued from the Policements Pension and Relief Fund shall be signed by the City Treasurer, the Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees of said Fund --who shall be elected from the Boardts present membership, and the Secretary of said Board. SECTION 4. That the authority conferred by this Resolution shall be exercised consistent with the applicable ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, • 9 • Resolution No. 1 - 66 Page Two February 14, 1966 the laws of the. State of Arkansas, and ttie,approved Budget of the City of Fayetteville, and such authority shall continue until a City Manager is employed or until sooner terminated by proper Resolution of the Board of Directors. • • PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of February, 1966.
