RESOLUTION NO. 14-66
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, .ARKANSAS, MAKING CERTAIN REQUESTS AND ASSURANCES
TO THE. ARKANSAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT CONCERNING HIGHWAY 16 BYPASS
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway Department has programed and authorized
funds for the construction of Highway 16 Bypass in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fayettevilleis desirousof having such project under
construction at an early date because of traffic congestion now present,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That the Highway Commission and Department be requested
to change the alignment of the proposed bypass route to begin at the intersection
of Crossover Road (State Highway 265) and Huntsville Road (State Highway 16); and,
SECTION. 2. That the City of Fayetteville will assure the highway department
that right-of-way in the amount of 60 feet width through developed sections. and
80 feet width through undevelopedsections will be obtained by the City and turned
over .to the highway department; and,
SECTION 3. That water and sewer lines beneath or on the side of the present
roadway be allowed in their present locations unless grade changes would require
moving or encasing; and,
SECTION 4. That the entire project from east to west ends be placed under
contract (s) at an_early date and constructed as expeditiously as possible.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 13th day of June , 1966.
