WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has accepted the annexation
of certain territory south of the present Corporate Limits, a portion of which
extends into and comprises a part of Greenland Township, Washington County,
Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, Greenland Township had previously voted under the Arkansas
Local Option Laws to prohibit the sale of intoxicating beverages and* become
a "Dry Area", and
WHEREAS, the sale of intoxicating ,beverages is permitted within the
present Corporate Limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, is of
the opinion that under the laws of the State of Arkansas, this annexed territory
lying within the boundaries of Greenland Township iS and should retain its present
"dry" status.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS'
SECTION 1. That the Arkansas Beverage Commission be and is hereby
requested to refrain the issuing of "Alcoholic Beverage Licenses" in that part of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, which lies within the boundaries of the
Township of Greenland, Washington County, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Arkansas
B everage Commission, and that it be copied in the minutes and made a permanent
record in Procedure of the City Council
