RESOLUT ION 11-59
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas recognizes
the need for proper and orderly'growth and the prevention of
undesirable physical conditions, and
WHEREAS, continuous comprehensive planning for the City
of Fayetteville is recognized as essential for its future
growth and development, and
WHEREAS, the financial resources of the City of Fayetteville
are not adequate to finance in whole the necessaryplanning
services, and
WHEREAS, the University of'Arkansas, acting as the State
Agency for planning assistance, can provide the needed planning
services and can apply for financial assistance from Federal
sources,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. that the City Council of
Fayetteville, Arkansas requests that the University of Arkansas
apply for a reservation of federal planning funds to undertake
a planning program Witch may include_ the following;
1. Assistance on planhtng adktnt.stratton in impleMenting
theplans and the zoning and subdivision regulations
and In coordinating the administration among'the
various municipal departments;
2• Assistance on review and revision of fire zones,
building and other municipal codes to simplify,
coordinate and render more effective their adm'inistra.
tion.
Assistance on revision and study of the initial draft
of a.public improvement program and on its implementa-
tion.
•
4. Preparation of a stody of annexation problemsr-
economic, utilities, public services, and population
and development trends-- with recommendations,
S. Preparation of an application for the certification
of a Workable Program.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Fayetteville will
make available the sum of $1,200 per quarter over a period of
two years to be used in part in defraying the cost of the
proposed planning program as determined by the City of •
Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas. //
