RESOLUTION
•
WHEREAS a petition for referendum of Ordihanceto.'1166-
of the ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas has been
filed; and
WHEREAS the Council finds that the total vote cast for
the office of Mayor in the last general election was /n6 6
votes and that the petition for referendum of said Ordinance No.
1166 contains the signatures of esIO qualified electors
of the City of Fayetteville, which number exceeds the required fif-
teen per cent (15%); and
WHEREAS in view of this finding, it is unnecessary to
have a hearing to determine whether or not said referendum petition
contains the required signatures; •
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas:
Section 1. That pursuant to petition of the requisite
number of qualified electors, a special election is hereby called
to be held in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas on the .274( day
of ,v,17 , 1958 for the purpose of submitting to the
electors the question of approving or disapproving Ordinance No. 1166
of the ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Section 2. That the election shall be held and conducted
and the vote canvassed in the same manner as general municipal elec-
tions in the City of Fayetteville, and the question shall be placed
on the ballot in substantially the form set forth in the referendum
petition.
Section 3. That the Mayor is hereby directed to give
:notice of the election by an advertisement published one time in
Lfr,e(rse2es ,9:44t;„.t'sas mes , a newspaper published in
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and having°a general circulation
therein, the publication to be at least ten (10) days before the
election.

Section 4. That'a copy of this Resolution shall be given
to the Sheriff of Washington County, -Arkansas, in -order that he may
post and publish his Proclamation and+a copy shall be given to the
Washington County Board of Election Commissioners so that the proper
election officials and supplies may be furnished.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall take effect and be
in force immediately upon and after its passage.
