Carlile has been continuously in the employment of the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas since the year 1896 and WHEREAS, his services over this long period have been extremely satisfactory and he has been a very loyal and faithful servant of the city of Fayetteville, and has attain- ed the age of 73 years; Now therefore, be it resolved, by the city of Fayetteville, that James L. garlile be -and he is hereby retired from active duty of the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and from and after the first day of November, 1941, he shall be paid a salary of $50.00 per month, which sum shall be in payment for his services he a consultant, and for active duty only in case of necessity; it being the sense of this resolution that J. L. Carlile, because of his long years of experience in the operation of the Filter Plant of the city of Fayetteville, is peculiarly qualified to direct the proper operations of the Filter Plant under abnormal conditions.
