HomeMy WebLinkAbout39-21 RESOLUTIONsmoke— RESOLUTION. -24 WHEREAS, a Petition claiming to represent a majority in value of the owners of real property -on Davidson Street; from the East line of College Avenue to the West line of Willow Avenue; Washington Avenue, from the North line of Dickson Street to the South line of Davidson Street; Willow Avenue, from the North line -of -Dickson -Street+ -to -the -South, -line of -Rebecca street; Sutton Street, from the East line of Washington Avenue to the East line of Walnut Avenue; Olive Avenue, from the North line of Lafayette street to the South line of Maple Street; Lafayette: Street, from the East line of College Avenue,to the West line of Mission Avenue; and Walnut Avenue, from the North line of Suttbr. Street to the South line of Maple Street was duly filed with the City Council at its regular meeting, held Friday; Jhnuary 7, 1921, ask- ing that said property be created into an Improvement District, to be known as Willow Avenue Improvement Distribt Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and WHEREAS, on the 7th day of January, 1921, the said City Council of said CityofFayettevillerkansas,_hyma_Reeolution-dulypassed=and-:approve&,c=or-- dered and directed the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to give notice by publication for two weeks in some newspaperpublished in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas, that such petition had been filed, and would be considered by said City Cbuncil on the 21st day of January, 1921, at 7:30 P: M.; and WHEREAS-, said notice was not published for the time and in the manner required by law. NOW, TIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED EY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE; ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: That a hearing of said petition to determine whether those persons who have signed_said.petition-eonsti±uteca:majiority.in-value-of the owners of real property, situated in said Improvement District, will be ' held by said City Cbuncil of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the Mayor's Office in said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday, December 2, 1921, beginning at 7:30 P. M. of said day. 2. SECTION TWO:: That the City Clerk of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be, and he is hereby ordered and directed to give notice by publication for two weeks in some newspaperrpublished at Fayetteville, Washington Cbuhty, Arkansas; advising all owners of real property -within Willow Avenue Improve- ment District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that a petition was presented to said City Council of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on January 7, 1921, requesting that the contemplated Improvement 4 be undertaken, and that the cost thereof be charged and assessed against the real property within said District, and that on Friday, December 2, 1921, the said City Cbuncil of said City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, will determine whether or not said petition is signed by such majority in assessed valua- tion. SECTION THREEThat all Orders and Resolutions in conflict herewith, be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and this Resolution shall take ef- fect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
