Subject: Purchase of two Compact Trucks for Water & Sewer
Unit 2096 is a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It has now reached 113% of the original
purchase price in life to date maintenance cost.
Unit 2131 is a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado and has reached 92% of the original purchase price in
life to date maintenance costs.
These vehicles are used by the Meter division for reading meters around town. They are
required to haul equipment and need the capabilities of a truck. However, they constantly have
to stop and at times fit into tight spots. For these reasons, a smaller compact truck is more
functional than a SUV or full size truck.
Through bid 16-41, two 2016 Toyota Tacomas are available through Steve Landers Toyota of
Rogers, AR for $21,400.00 each, for a total of$42,800.00. This was the lowest bid price
received.
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for these purchases. There is a slight shortfall of funds
collected for the replacement of 2131, which should be covered by the sale of this unit.
