commission must accept the land.
7. Appleseeds Master Plan Proposal — Mary Thompson
Mary Thompson presented the Appleseeds Master Plan Proposal for their
teaching farm at Gulley Park. She discussed fencing and the proposed
layout of the garden and education area. Their goal was to add and
enhance the features of Gulley Park. They will host events that will
incorporate the park and current park events.
Colwell expressed his concern regarding cost of the programs to the
schools.
Thompson replied that most of the programs are funded by grants and
private donations. The areas that are not funded are covered by a small
fees charged to schools. They try to fund as much as they can so there is
little or no cost to the schools. The programs help schools start gardens
and they also offer free workshops and nutritional education to the
teachers and students. All of the produce is grown goes back to the
schools at no cost.
Priest asked how many large events they anticipate to hold at the park.
Thompson said they will have one in the summer and one of the fall, each
holding 200-350 people.
Priest asked about parking.
Thompson said they would utilize the park, with the permission of the
Parks and Recreation Department.
Maxwell asked how many days out of the year the children are at the farm
and how many kids they usually see at their programs.
Thompson replied it was seasonal, fall and spring. Summer camps will be
offered in the summer. Once the high tunnel is installed, they will be able
to extend their programs into the winter season. She said they reach
about 4,000 students per year and anticipate that number to rise by 25-
2
35% each year.

RE: Money In Lieu 1 Macey Street Townhomes
Dear Alison,
Please accept this letter as a written request to provide money in lieu of property for our proposed townhome
project located northeast of where Macey Drive stubs out in Fayetteville. Please see the attached plats for more
information.
Currently this 5.23 acre site is raw land which we are proposing to develop into nice townhornes with
connectivity to the trail system. We will work closely with you and the trails department to ensure that
easements are provided and are planning our development around this trail extension.
Attached you will find a site plan along with our lot split plat. The site plan is purely conceptual at this time.
Following your approval we will seek development approval through the Planning Department which may
cause adjustments to be made in the number of units.
We appreciate your time and hope you will give this proposal careful consideration. We are looking forward to
completing this subdivision and together leaving our Legacy one Venture at a time.
