HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at
6:00 p.m. April 28, 2016, in the City Administration Building, Room #111, Fayetteville,
AR.
Mike Emery, Chairperson called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Mike Emery, Chris White, Matthew Cabe, and Carma
Unruh
Commissioners Absent: Chris Terry
Others Present: Deniece Smiley (Fayetteville Housing Authority)
Rick Shelton (Caldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucett
Vlad Tatter, and Angela Rockmore, NAACP local member
NEW BUSINESS
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Board Meeting. No corrections or
changes were made to the board meeting minutes; and Chris White made a motion
to accept and Matthew Cabe seconded. The Board approved unanimously.
B. Approval of February 2016 Balance Sheets & Income Statements and March 2016
Accounts Payable Summary. Matthew Cabe made a motion to accept and Christ
White seconded. The Board approved unanimously.
C. Approval of Resolution No. 1045 Authorizing the Award of Contract for Doors
and Window Installation at Hillcrest Towers. Chris White made the motion
authorizing the award to SEARK Enterprises, LLC, of Pine Bluff, AR and
Matthew Cabe seconded. The Board approved unanimously.
D. Discussion of the Need to Execute Quitclaim Deed to City of Fayetteville —
Fayetteville Square Gardens. A short explanation was provided by Executive
Director with a tabling of discussion until receipt of document from legal counsel.
E. Rick Shelton — Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette — Interest in
purchase of Willow Heights. Mr. Shelton along with Vlad Tatter discussed their
clients' interest in the purchase of Willow Heights with the board; Robert Beale
joined discussion via telephone. The Board thanked them for their interest and
informed them if a decision is made to sale the property it would be through a
public sale.
F. Executive Director's Report — Brief remarks were made by Deniece Smiley.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned until the next scheduled Regular
Board Meeting on May 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
