Summary
1. Illinois River Watershed Partnership representatives presented on their
development of a Watershed Management Plan in 2009. The plan will look at
point and non-point source pollution and provide guidelines for reducing the
impact of these pollution sources in the watershed.
2. Bruce Shackleford with the Woolsey Wet Prairie discussed the success of this
project located near the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant and the potential
for future mitigation banking and site expansion.
Notes
• In January 2009 the Environmental Concerns Committee will discuss and develop a
new strategy for the ECC's role in the community. This visioning process will
determine what changes, if any, the Committee would like pursue in the coming year.
• The new year will also see two new appointed members to the ECC. Special thanks to
Joyce Hale for her involvement in the ECC over the past two years.
• Deadline for applications to the ECC is November 26, 2008.
