Summary
1. Mike Malone, Executive Director,Northwest Arkansas Council (NWAC)
a. Mike discussed NWAC's work in developing a coalition of interested
parties and hiring a consulting firm to study and address watershed
management in the Beaver Lake watershed.
II. Bob Morgan, Manager of Environmental Quality, Beaver Lake Water District
a. Bob discussed the agreement between the City of Fayetteville and the
Beaver Water District with regards to watershed management in the White
River watershed. The City of Fayetteville has agreed to pay $200,000 per
year for five years in water quality management to offset the need for
tighter regulations on the Noland Wastewater Treatment Plant. The City
has hired Geosyntech to develop a watershed management plan.
III. Introduction of Jeff Beaver, Green Lighting Company—Jeff is a new member
of the ECC.
IV. Joyce Hale discussed her ongoing work in the area of conservation easements
inside the state.
