ECC Meeting, September 13, 2007
I. Brian Pugh, Engineer—Cost of Commercial Recycling
a. Brian discussed the costs of expanding the City's recycling program to
cover commercial options.
b. The ECC voted to support the expansion of recycling drop-off centers by
one to increase participation of commercial and multi-family entities.
II. The ECC voted to approve the Environmental Policy Resolution as stated by
the ECC. Councilwoman Brenda Thiel will now work on a resolution to go
before Council at a later date.
III. Tom Lamonte discussed his latest initiatives involving stream cleanup in
Fayetteville.
IV. Josh Bailey, President of the U of A Environmental Law Society, introduced
himself and spoke of the need for more community involvement by members
of the ELS.
V. Tentative Agenda for October 11, 2007—Bob Morgan, Beaver Water District,
has agreed to speak about two watershed management plans that are currently
being developed in northwest Arkansas. Mike Malone,Northwest Arkansas
Council, may also attend the meeting to discuss the plans as well. A formal
agenda will be distributed the week of October 11th
