KANSAS CITY COUNCIL AGENDA MEMO To: Mayor and City Council Thru: Don Marr, Chief of Staff Terry Gulley,Director of Transportation✓V From: Sharon Waters,Parking and Telecom Manager Date: July 14,2010 Subject: An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 72 Parking Regulations of The Fayetteville Code to Change the Rental Rates for Parking Spaces at the Fayetteville Municipal Parking Garage PROPOSAL: City staff is recommends the approval of an ordinance to change the rental rates for parking spaces at the Fayetteville Municipal Parking Garage RECOMMENDATION: Currently, the second level (88 spaces) is leased out to monthly parkers and is at 100% capacity. The hotel has leased the entire first level (89 spaces) since the hotel was built. The parking rates for the first and second levels (covered parking) of the Municipal Parking Garage are currently $45.00 per space per month. These rates have not increased since January 2001. The construction of the Town Center was completed in July 2001 and the rates for covered parking in this garage were set at$50.00 per space per month. Staff recommends a modest adjustment to the rate, increasing it from $45.00 to $50.00 per space per month. This rate will match the same rate that is being charged at the Town Center Garage. BUDGET IMPACT: This rate change will generate an additional$10,620.00 in annual parking revenues. ORDINANCE NO.
