Home My WebLink About2013-11-20 - MinutesCity of Fayetteville Audit Committee Meeting Minutes November 20, 2013 The following audit committee members were present: Tony Uth, Jr. Alderwoman Adella Gray Jacob Pesicek The following City staff members were present: Don Marr, Chief of Staff Paul Becker, Finance and Internal Services Director Terri Raskiewicz, Internal Auditor Marsha Hertweck, Accounting Director Approval of Minutes The minutes of the June12, 2013 audit committee meeting were approved by all audit committee members present. Draft minutes from this meeting and the June 12, 2013 final approved minutes will be forwarded to the City Council to keep them informed of committee proceedings. Approved minutes are posted on the City’s website on the audit committee page. Proposed Audit Plan A draft version of the 2014 Internal Audit Plan was distributed to the audit committee for review. There was a short discussion about the plan and two items were discussed as additions to the proposed plan. An updated draft of the 2014 plan will be distributed to the audit committee and key City management prior to the next Audit Committee Meeting. New Audit Committee Members This was the last meeting for two audit committee members. Adella Gray will be replaced by Matthew Petty at the next meeting. Alderwoman Gray’s term is up and Alderman Petty will replace her as our required City Council member appointed by the Mayor. Jacob Pesicek is the newest citizen member selected by the City Council. Anthony Uth, Jr.’s 3-year term will expire on December 31, 2013. This will create a vacancy on the committee for a citizen member. Terri Raskiewicz was hired by the City as the Internal Auditor in October 2013. Internal Audit Update The Internal Auditor presented the following information as an update to the committee: Inventory – Terri is working with the Fleet and Solid Waste departments to schedule the yearly inventory counts for the first week of December. Cash Counts – The yearly cash counts for petty cash and cash drawers will be conducted throughout the month of December.
