REGULAR MEETING
April 18, 2005
Commissioners Present: Bob Davis, Dan Coody, Neal Crawford, Pat Gazzola, Don
Marr, David McGeady, and Maudie Schmitt.
Commissioners Absent: None
Staff Present: Willistme Smith and Marilyn Heffner
Chairman Pat Gazzola called the regular monthly meeting of the Fayetteville Advertising
and Promotion Commission to order on April 18, 2005 at the Fayetteville Town Center at
2:00 p.m.
Chairman welcomed Bob Davis as Commissioner filling At -large position.
MINUTES
Moved by Davis, second by Coody to approve the minutes of the March 14, 2005, regular
meeting. Motion carried.
HMR REVENUES
HMR revenues for March were $164,762.55, an 18.16% increase over last March. Hotel
revenues were up 12.50% and restaurant revenues were up 23.61%.
FINANCIAL REPORT
In the absence of Scarbrough and Murtishaw personnel, Marilyn presented the financials
for the month of March. Moved by Davis, second by Coody to approve the financial
statements. Motion carried.
CITY ATTORNEY
City Attomey reported collections of $6,138.57 in March. Year to date collections are in
excess of $21,700. Major payments from restaurants not paying in a long time account
for collections.
Commissioners inquired about newspapers publishing a delinquent tax payer list to
motivate people to send in collections. Commissioners indicated an interest in
purchasing an ad once a quarter if newspapers would not publish list.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Marilyn Heifner reported a 169% increase in advertising inquiries in March (4,821) and a
115% increase in Internet per day average visits (602) Year to date increase in inquiries
is 256%.
Marilyn was a speaker at the Arkansas State Parks and Recreation meeting and at the VA
Strategic Management & Planning conference. She and Allyson attended the Arkansas
Governor's Conference on Tourism.
• After discussion by Commissioners, Davis moved that the Executive Director's salary be
increased by 6%, second by Coody. Motion carted.

Chairman Gazzola will review the job description with commissioners over the next 90
days.
Funding Requests
Commissioners met prior to meeting with representatives of orgamzatfons requesting
funding from the A & P Commission. The following amounts were approved by the
Commission for 2005:
