PRESENT: Bob Davis, Joe Fennel, Pat Gazzola, Kevin Santos, Curtis Shipley, and Marilyn
Johnson.
ABSENT: John Gilliam
The regular meeting of the Advertising and Promotion Commission was called to order at the
Fayetteville Town Center conference room at 2:00 p.m. by Chairman Joe Fennel.
MINUTES
Moved by Shipley, second by Davis to approve the minutes of the June 10 meeting. Motion
carried•
FINANCIAL REPORT
Gail Foster representing Scarbrough and Murtishaw reviewed the financials for the Town Center
and the A & P Commission for June. Gazzola moved to approve financials for June, second by
Shipley. Motion carried.
Marilyn Johnson reported that total collections for June were $128,997.90, a 21.48% increase.
• Including new collections of $6,321.79.
•
City attorney Kit Williams presented the report of the City Prosecutor's office regarding
delinquent HMR collection action through his office.
CONVENTION AND VISITOR DEVELOPMENT REPORT
Marilyn Johnson reviewed Convention Development report. Highlights included American
Lung Clean Air Challenge Bike Tour from Van Buren to Fayetteville, new First Night director
Jim Mitchell, All Star Festival and Coach's Clinic BEST for Arkansas has been postponed
because of not being able to raise sufficient funding. Year End Warranty checklist was
completed with Nabholtz and Wittenberg, Delony and Davidson by Denise and Marilyn.
Allyson Twiggs, CVB Manager was introduced. Phyllis Tucker will be the Tourism coordinator
for the CVB.
TOWN CENTER REPORT
Denise Bembenek reported that 16 events had been held in the Town Center during May.
Contracted sales for the month were $12,194.20. "Gear and Beer" event has been postponed
because of a similar event in Springdale in August. Transition has been in progress for Sales
Manager Keith Lee and Jamey Goddard who were introduced to Commissioners.
AGENCY REPORT

Brian Clark with Sells/Clark, Inc. said inquiries from 2 publications, Family Circle and Parade,
are not performing this year. The Agency will continue to monitor this. Historic Walking Tour
is in process.

NEW BUSINESS
Approval of Lease Agreement with Chamber of Commerce
Marilyn reviewed provisions of Lease Agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and the A
& P Commission for space foe CVB. Moved by Shipley, second by Davis to approve the lease
agreement. Motion carried.
Approval of Award of Bids for computer system
Two bids were received
GCM - $8,679.95
AAA Business Machines - $8,052.00
Marilyn recommended approval of low bid. Moved by Santos, second by Shipley to award bid
to AAA Business Machines. Motion carried.
Approval of Award of bid for printing
The following bids were received
Copy Mart $705.00
Insty-Prints 958.25
Calvert McBride 1,292.49
Just -Us Printers 846.00
Marilyn recommended approval of low bid. Moved by Mong, second by Gazzola to award bid
to Copy Mart for $705.00. Motion carried.
The A & P Commission will not meet in August.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
