The regular meeting of the Advertising and Promotion Commission was called to order at
the Chamber of Commerce conference room at 2:00 p.m. by Commissioner Joe Fennel.
MINUTES
Moved by Jerde, second by Shipley to approve the minutes of the September 14 and
October 11 meeting. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Kevin Crosson presented the financial report. Expenses in October were $48,896 with
major expenditure for advertising. Collections for October were $95,824, up 0.18% over
last October. Year to date collections are $963,824, up 6.23%.
Moved by Shipley, second by Daniel to approve the financial report. Motion carried.
CONVENTION AND VISITOR DEVELOPMENT REPORT
Marilyn Johnson reviewed activity report in agenda packet. She mentioned activities in
conjunction with the March of the Century parade and Veteran's Day observances.
ADVERTISING AGENCY REPORT
No report. Creative will be presented in December.
OLD BUSINESS
Town Center Legal Fees
Moved by Shipley, second by Jerde to pay Ken Shemin for representing the A & P
Commission in the Town Center lawsuit. Statement for services and costs was $9,327.50.
NEW BUSINESS
Job Descriptions for Town Center
Discussion was presented regarding structure of all personnel involved in running Town
Center and in carrying out Advertising and Promotions for the City of Fayetteville.
Various scenarios were presented.
It was the consensus that a Sales Manager should be the next person hired. Who that
person reports to was discussed. A brainstorming session for Town Center personnel
organization will be held on Wednesday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber.

Funding Requests for 2000
Fennel presented $256,184.20 in requests received by the Commission. The Committee
recommended funding $82,900. A list is attached.
Moved by Daniel, second by Jerde to approve the recommendations of the committee.
Motion carried.
Peace Prayer Foundation
Written proposal was presented to Commissioners regarding this sculpture for
consideration for the Town Center Plaza.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
