CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Joe Fennel at
11:00 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office.
FUNDING REQUESTS:
After discussion regarding funding requests and policy
regarding funding. Moved by Bassett, second by Jerde to
grant the following funds for special projects:
Arkansas Music Festival $2,000
Air Fest'96 $1,000
Holiday Hoops $21,500
Washington County Historical Society $10,000
Motion carried.
EXHIBIT HALL/TOWN CENTER:
Richard Alderman led discussion regarding administration and
management of the Exhibit Hall/Town Center.
Steve Ward presented a management scheme for the Exhibit
Hall/Town Center. The plan involved the A & P Commission
contracting through the Chamber of Commerce for the
Convention and Visitor Development Director to oversee a
facilities/sales manager & 2 part time personnel, a
secretary, and a maintenance person. The Exhibit Hall/Town
Center will contract cleaning services. A copy of the
management flow chart is attached.
Shipley moved, Hanna seconded that the A & P Commission adopt
the Fayetteville Town Center management scheme as proposed by
Steve Ward.
For financial feasibility study, Wittenberg, Delony &
Davidson will look at an 18,000 square foot facility with
parking on three levels.
Shipley and Fennel will talk to the Downtown Parking
Authority regarding use of the Authority property and
potential for them participating in building the parking.
Hanna and Bassett will talk to Bradbury regarding connection
to and through the Southside property.
Fennel and Kaylor will meet with Richard Alderman to discuss
food service area.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
